Lazy A Ranch was born in May of 2003. We bought 108 acres in East Texas just outside of Shepherd. The first few years were spent clearing parts of the property for pasture and installing new fencing, electrical, a well, a barn, and a ranch cabin. Our first longhorns were a couple of water color paintings we hung on the wall of our new ranch cabin. Little did we know this was the start of Lazy A Longhorn Ranch.
We brought the pictures to life when we purchased our first group of registered longhorn cows, and heifers from Steve Zunker at the Box Z Ranch, they came with great pedigrees from some of the original families of longhorns. We have now grown our herd to around 25 and have Supercede a son of Super Bowl as our herd sire.

SUPERCEDE DOB 6/21/2005 Sire: Superbowl Dam Smokeys Show Girl. A real stout young bull with Superbowl as his sire, he will pass along the horn genetics. He has been shown once and he won his class at the Bluebonnet Texas Longhorn Show. We can't wait to see what kind of horns his offspring will have.

OPENING NIGHT 4/21/2004 She is Millennium Futurity eligible, and hit 40" before she was 18 months. We have great hopes for her offspring. (Shown here with her May 27, 2007, Country Star bull calf.)
