Pine Ridge Farm was started in Rush City, Minnesota in 1995 with a couple head of Miniature Horses, which eventually grew to about 15. Up until the last couple years, we were extensively into breeding and showing. With the cost of gas and limited local shows, we decided to stop showing and only breed one mare a year.
We relocated in 2002 to Standish, Michigan due to the failing health of my mother. After her passing away I could see no reason to stay in the frigid North so in 2004 relocated to our current location of Montalba, Texas which is about 90 miles SE of the great city of Dallas.
Since moving to Texas we have sold a lot of the Miniature Horses (only have a mare and young stallion left).
Approximately a year and a half ago we purchased the Texas Longhorn cattle, which by far are the most beautiful. I only wanted one but after talking with a local breeder who advised I should at least have two (for company), purchased a cow and her calf (the calf was supposed to have been steered before he was delivered). Upon delivery, found out the little steer was still a little bull and is to this day. When I made my last visit to the local breeder’s ranch before delivery I saw that the cow was running with a herd that had a bull in with them and within a few months of them being delivered here she had another little bull calf that I immediately had steered.

My cattle were purchased from Ellen and Roy Bode out of Ennis, TX and have Gunman, GF Starman, GF Gunman and VJ Tommie in their backgrounds.
After reaching the ripe old age of 60, I have decided to part with most of the bigger animals and relocate to a more milder climate. Will probably keep the dogs and a few of the birds and move to a small place hopefully by a beach. Even though the winters in North East Texas are mild, they are still a little too cold for me! Will consider a package deal on my small herd!
