We at Rockin K Longhorns, strive to raise "total package" cattle. We have young kids, so disposition is a must! We are located in the south west corner of Missouri, just ten minutes south of Joplin, MO and five miles south of I-44.

We show regularly in the ITLA circuit, and have quite a few awards to show for it. We are a family partnership that consists of my wife Valerie and I, her parents, Jay and Barbara Goodan, and our kids, Chris, Matthew, and Nicole Keating.

 

 

Reward Chex is our senior herd sire, bred by Bob Loomis.  He is by VJ Tommie (aka Unlimited) and out of HCC Rita's Reward ( a 70" plus cow).

 

Lady of The Hills bred by Joe and Marge Bashor (Ozark Ranger Star x Cherokee Star) 2005 ITLA Grand Champion All Age Female in the Youth Division. Shown by Chris Keating, and calf at side by Jake Clark.

I am a supervisor for a construction company and am gone quite a bit of time. Valerie, Chris, and Grandma take care of everything while I'm gone and do a good job of it. Grandpa is busy with his real estate business, but provides lots of moral support. They travel all over the country showing our cattle. Chris does the majority of the showing, but Nicole is in "training". Valerie is also the ITLA Youth Director and that keeps her busy too, but she really likes the kids.

We love our longhorns and wouldn't know how to act without them around. What we enjoy just as much though, are the extremely nice people that we have met over the years. Longhorn breeders really are the best.
