We are a small, family run operation based in Sanger, Texas.  Our brand - the Lazy Diamond K - has been a registered brand in Denton County, Texas since August of 1969.  In 2004, we bought some land in Jacksboro, Texas primarily to hunt deer and to spend time together as a family. We got interested in Longhorns and have been growing ever since. In 2007, we upgraded our bull, adding CWR Gunsmoke, a 2000 pound, 60 inch tip-to-tip grulla bull.

We have slowly accumulated a few more cows from other ranches, always focusing more on Quality than quantity. Our herd now consists of CWR Gunsmoke, and about a dozen cows.

We retain or resell only those animals that meet our criteria of what a Longhorn should be. They should be pleasing to the eye when you first see them. They should have the type of disposition that you can walk among them comfortably in the pasture. And, they should have a strong background with recognizable names in the Longhorn industry.
