Osage Roundup, that we lost this year, was by Roundup and out of a daughter of Roundup. His dam, RB Blueyes, now resides on Todd Taylor's ranch in Yorktown, Texas. Just ask Todd what he thinks of her! You will find Tabasco, Play Boy and Tango twice in Osage Roundup's three generation pedigree.
He was a beautiful mulberry roan, with 60" tip to tip, 81 1/2" total horn with a 17" base at 5 years. He also carried that great Roundup dispostion, very easy to handle! McGill breeding at it's best! He will continue to influence our herd through his daughters and granddaughters.

Wyoming Roundup's Dot is the 2004 daughter of Friday 1399. She is by Wyoming Roundup and carries on that pretty, dark red color. Her horn measurements at 16 months were 40.5" tip to tip, 44.5", total and 11.25" base. We think Wyoming Roundup is one of the best kept secrets in the Longhorn business. If you're not familiar with a cow named, Sparkles (owned by Roger & Carol Hutton, South Lake, TX), you will be soon. She is by Wyoming Roundup out of a Roundup daughter named Frosty Diamond and headed to super cow status. As my friend Ken Kirkham says, "Roundup gets it done!" |

Le'AN Cattle Company is owned and operated by Bill & Jo Le'AN located in the Ozark mountains of southwest Missouri. We had been in the commercial cattle business for several years, but after having sold out in 1998, we found out we missed wading in snow and newborn calves in the spring.
We bought our first registered longhorns from Ken and Vonnie Kirkham, who live just a couple miles across the creek from us. We thank them very much for introducing us to what we think is the greatest breed of cattle in the livestock industry. Not only do we love the cattle, but the new acquaintances that we have made, whether it be at one of the TLBAA sales, the Horn Showcase or wherever we are, have been great folks. Also, the staff of the TLBAA have welcomed us and been very helpful when asked.
You will find our cattle herd has a lot of Owen McGill and Wes Watson breeding, two cattlemen I respect very much. Their knowledge along with the help of our friend Ken Kirkham, has brought us a long way in a short period of time in the longhorn business.
I sat on a bale of hay one day in Houston, Texas, a day before the Gathering sale, and visited for a long period of time with my good friend, Wes Watson, and found out that we shared a lot of the same thoughts and ideas on what it takes to produce an outstanding longhorn cow; Horn, Conformation, Pedigree, Color, Nutrition, etc...but the one thing we both unanimously agreed on was milk. You have to have a cow that will milk. If she won't, she can't live at Le'AN Cattle Company.
Another fellow that dropped by to sit on the bale of hay that day in Houston, was Co. Eddie Wood (another Gentleman of whom I have great respect). I can fully appreciate the impact he has had on the marketing of longhorn cattle, as I myself, an auctioneer, and also an operator of a livestock auction market for several years here in Missouri, realize that we have to have a place to sell our cattle. The TLBAA (with Jim Curry's guidance) is doing a fine job of organizing sales. So now you know where I got my PhD in the longhorn business.
I hope when you visit our cattle on this website, or drop by our place to look at our stock, you will see something you like!
Our door is always open and we welcome folks to come by anytime.
"All our cattle are now Millennium Futurity eligible!"
