Plantana Polo Farm, home of Kay and her daughter, Katie Sargent, is located approximately 20 minutes west of Houston. 

We have been breeding longhorns for a short 6 years, but feel that small is not bad and quality is the game.  With incredible horn length, a 16 1/4" base and sons and daughters that prove his capabilities as a herdsire, we are proud of our famous up and coming bull, PPF Gun Maker.  We are confident this herd sire will be on many a lucky registration paper in the future. 

PPF Gun Maker's dam, Gunman's Fancy Ava, is also part of our program, is a two time Horn Showcase winner. 

American Star, a 2004 son of PPF Gun Maker, placed 3rd at the 2005 Horn Showcase, behind 1st place by only 1 inch and was younger than the winner! 

PPF Gun Maker has put 40" and over on several of his heifers only 18 months of age.

We would like to add that this incredible sire is also producing every color and putting great horn and great horn base on every calf, no matter who he has been matched with.  To date, there have been no bull calves sired by PPF Gun Maker worthy of castration in our herd.

We often hear a question mark in the longhorn breeder's voice as they repeat the name of our farm...  For the curious, we offer a simple explanation.  The farm has served for the past 18 years as a polo operation, hence the name. 

I have since retired from the game after spending close to half a century competing and teaching.  We still welcome polo ponies to board with us for seasonal National Tournaments.  However, the practice fields have now become beautiful pastures for our beloved Texas Longhorn cattle.  The name and logo will remain, as will our fond memories...
