Growing up on a farm in South Dakota during the 50's and 60's taught me an appreciation for livestock. I left the farm in 1965 to join the service, but maintained my connection with the farm and visited my cousins farm in South Dakota often.

In 2002, my son-in-law, Jon Johnson of Dakota Longhorns, announced he was buying a longhorn heifer to place on his hobby farm. I offered to buy one also. Throughout the years I came to own six longhorns and am now in affiliation with him.

PL Barbaro won his Tip to Tip class at the 2007 Horn Showcase with a measurement of 48 3/4". He placed 4th in Total horn and 3rd in Composite horn. We were very proud of his 3rd place ranking also, as the 1st and 2nd place bulls in that class were 6 months older than he was.
